CAUSES OF TURNER SYNDROME

• The exact cause of the disease is undefined
• Girls with Turner Syndrome are born without an x or half of an X chromosome
• Defined as a mutation because a chromosome is affected

HOW IS IT INHERITED?

• Turner Syndrome specifically effects the X chromosome

TREATMENT

• No specific cure
• Only treatments that can cure some problems associated with the condition

DIAGNOSIS

• Diagnosed at birth
• Blood tests
• Determines if these is anything abnormal in the chromosomes

OCCURANCE

• Effects 1 in 2,500 girls
• Very uncommon
