About Us

  • We are a high school with a magnet focus in the arts. We offer painting, sculpting, choral arts, drama, poetry, creative writing and several music programs.
  • As a Leader in Me School, all students have the opportunity to lead.

Overview

  • Football, softball, baseball, basketball teams. 54% participation rate
  • Foreign Language clubs, religious clubs, and community service clubs. 32% participation rate.

Strengths

  • 87% of the student population participates in the arts electives.
  • Less than 4% of the student population misses five or more days of school.
  • The emphasis on the arts has created a culture that fosters learning, because many students have found their creative "outlet."

  • Parental involvement numbers are low.
  • Transportation for magnet students can be difficult, which increases tardies.
  • Behavior Referral data shows many students are being given ISS for aggressive behavior or fighting.
