  • Equality is when you give all of your events equal time and space
  • Should eating breakfast be as important as winning the race?
  • Focus your writing on just one main event
  • "Zoom" can be compared to the compass of the writing: it keeps it on track.

Imagine:

  • 30 years after the famous home run, he is telling his grandchildren
  • Would he begin his story with what he ate for breakfast?
  • Would he talk about his drive to the stadium that day?
  • Or would he tell about the most important event, which was the home run?

What do readers want?
Readers want a writer to fast-forward through the boring, everyday events and focus on the main event of the story.
