CPU
Central Processing Unit
(micro processor) also known as the brains of the computer. It processes data, instructions, and complex functions.

BITS
stands for Binary Digit, it is the smallest unit of information a computer can process/ store

BYTES
a byte is a series of 8 bits; computer data storage is measured in bytes; each series of 8 bits means something to the computer, check the alphabet binary code

STORAGE DEVICES
a piece of computer equipment on which information can be stored

RAM
Random Access Memory
the temporary storage area where programs and files are stored wile running your computer. When the computer s turned off everything in RAM disappears

ROM
Read Only Memory
contains the basic instructions required to start your computer and access the operating system. Data in ROM cannot be changed

Four components of computer processing:
input, processing, storage, and output.
