The old City hall was built in 1899, but a earthquake destroyed it in 1906, And got Rebuilt in 1912.

S.F. State university was built at the same time as City hall in 1899. SF state university used to be called normal school.

One side of City hall is on Grove street, while the other side is on Vanness street. The neighborhood city hall was in was Civic center.
