MARIE CURIE

WAS THE FIRST WOMAN SCIENTIST

Marie Curie was born on November 7, 1864. She was the youngest of 5 children and her parents were both teachers. Her mother died when she was 11.

With her husband
Pierre, Marie investigated radioactivity.

Marie was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize shwon her first prize in 1903 and her second in 1911. She won her masters degree
in physics in1893, and a mathematics degree in 1894

Because of Marie Curie's discovery, hundreds of people have been cured and have the jobs they do today.

Marie Curie died in1934 probably because of one of her experiments with radiation.
