PRESENTATION OUTLINE
The Indus Valley was located in Pakistan and northwest India.
In 4000 B.C. farming settlements began to pop up
Around 2600 B.C. Towns and cities were created.
There is evidence of superior drainage systems and wells inside houses.
There is evidence that they traded with the Sumerian, the Egyptians and the Babylonians
Many small figurines have been found in the Indus Valley so we can assume it was a polytheistic religion
As in modern day India, the Indus Valley people held the cow sacred.
Indus Valley women wore makeup and jewelry similar to women in India. They actually created the caste system that is used in India today.
Because archeologists cannot translate the Indus Valley writing system, very little is known about their culture overall.
Eventually, the Aryans invaded the Indus Valley and settled down. Their language replaced the native tongues.
This was the end of the Indus Valley civilization. But remains of their culture and traditions are upheld in India and Pakistan.
