PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE ATMOSPHERE

(STRATOSPHERE)

The atmosphere is a very important part of our earth. It keeps us warm and keeps the heat from earth on earth.

The atmosphere is how we get weather on earth. It creates wind and other forms of weather. It also protects us from things falling to earth. Such as pieces of rock or a space shuttle re entering the atmosphere.

The atmosphere also allows us to talk to each other. If there was no air between us, we would not be able to talk to each other.

THE LAYERS

  • The Troposphere
  • The Stratosphere
  • The Mesosphere
  • The Thermosphere
  • The Ionosphere/Exosphere

The Stratosphere:
It extends from the top of the troposphere to about 50 km above Earth's surface. The lower in the stratosphere the colder.

The upper stratosphere contains a layer of ozone that absorbs energy. When it is absorbed the energy is converted to heat, warming the air.
