How does it grow?

The pomegranate is grown from a fruit bearing shrub that grows 5-8 m tall

Where and when does it grow?

In the northern hemisphere from September to February.

HISTORY

The pomegranate is considered to have originated between the regions of the Himalayas and Egypt and has been cultivated since ancient times.

They have been mentioned in numerous ancient texts and paintings.

The pomegranate was spread around the world by boats and the silk road.

NUTRITION FACTS

The good: Very low in saturated fat, cholesterol and odium. It is also a good source of dietary fiber and folate, and a very good source of vitamins C and K.

The bad: Most of the calories that come from pomegranates are from the sugars inside it.

HOW TO EAT

BE CAREFUL!

CAN GET MESSY AND WILL STAIN CLOTHES-WEAR AN APRON

1) Cut off the crown end
2) Lightly score the rind in several places
3) Hold under a bowl of water and break sections apart, separating seeds from membrane. Seeds will sink while rind and membrane will float

4) Remove rind from eater and discard
5) Pour seeds into a colander, drain and pat dry
6) Enjoy!
