PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Predation

  • The preying of one animal on others.
  • The leopard stalks its prey as it's about to kill.

COMMUNITY

  • An interacting group of various species in a common location.
  • Having lions interact with a herd in the same plain.

NICHE

  • An ecological niche is the way an organism fit into its environment.
  • This polar bear is placed in this environment due to its thick coat.

EXPONENTIAL GROWTH

  • A growth in which the rate is proportional to the increasing number or size in an exponential progression.
  • The less the predator preys on a herd in a plain the population of that herd will increase.

HABITAT

  • The place where a person or thing is most likely to be found.
  • A butterfly lives around plants/ flowers because it feeds off of them.

CARNIVORE

  • A organism that feeds only on flesh.
  • A tiger doesn't eat plants, it only eats other small animals.

CONSUMER

  • An organism that generally obtains food by feeding on other organisms or organic matter.
  • A bunny feeds off of grass or dandy lions.

DECOMPOSER

  • A organism that decomposes/ breaks down organic matter.
  • A mushrooms bacteria will break down the organic matter left over from a dead animal.

HERBIVORE

  • A organism that only feeds off of plants.
  • A gorilla will eat the leaves from trees and eat bananas.

OMNIVORE

  • A organism that feeds on both plants and other organisms.
  • A bear will eat salmon but also eat berries.
