SOUTHERN CAMPAIGN

• It began with the British concern with the war happening in the north
• Failure at Saratoga, the failure to bring the rebels down and the fear of French interference convinced the British to change tactics
• So the British decided to start fighting in south due to the strength of the loyalist
• The change in battle tactics turned out to be successful for the British for they were able to capture Charlestown and defeat the patriots at camden
