• Plumbers deal with pipes, septic tanks, natural gas distribution, etc
• Plumbing is physically demanding, requiring strength and stamina

Hours

• Plumbers work at least 40 hours a week
• They are usually on call for nights and weekends

Salary

• Plumbers usually make $20/hour
• Salary may be half that for apprentice plumbers 

Education

• Apprenticeship programs are available at many schools
• Apprenticeship may last 4-5 years
• 2-5 years of experience is usually required to be hired
• To be hired, you must also pass a written test
