THE SUN!

  • The sun consist mainly of two gases:
  • Hydrogen
  • Helium

WHAT DOES THE SOLAR SYSTEM CONSIST OF?

  • It consist of:
  • The sun
  • 8 planets with thein satellites
  • Dwarf planets
  • Small solar system bodies

PLANETS!

  • They are sphercial bodies wich revolve around the sun.
  • The inner planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth and mars.
  • They made up of rocks.
  • The outer planets are jupiter, saturn, uranus.

DWARF PLANETS

  • They are shperical bodies which orbit the sun.
  • They are smaller than planets.

SATELLITES

  • Satellites orbit planets and constist of rock.
  • Example: the moon

ASTEROIDS

  • Ateroids they are rocky objects witch are
  • irregular in shape.
  • They orbit around the sun between Mars and Jupiter.
  • This area is called asteroid belt.

COMETS

  • Comets are small bodies that travel around the sun
  • in highly elliptical orbits.
  • Their shape is irregular. The nucleus is made up of ice dust And gas.
  • When the comets are near the sun the ice evaporates creating a tail.
