PRESENTATION OUTLINE

SINGLE-CELLED ORGANISMS

  • Single-celled organisms are simple life forms.
  • Include: bacteria, amoebas and others.
  • They move, find food, grow, and make new organisms.

MULTI-CELLED ORGANISMS

  • Multi-celled organisms is made up of more than one cell.
  • Plants,animals,and other living things.
  • Made up of different kinds of cells that have certain jobs to do.
  • Muscle cells, white blood cells, and nerve cells.
  • For example: the cells that make up your heart work together to move oxygen and blood.

PLANT CELLS

  • Cell wall- surrounds the plant cell protects the cell and it helps it keep its shape.
  • Cell membrane- allows water and nutrients to pass into the cell
  • Nucleus- it is like the "brain" of the cell.
  • Chloroplasts- use light energy from the sun to make food from the plant.
  • Cytoplasm- jelly-like substance that fills the rest of the plant cell.

ANIMAL CELLS

  • Cell membrane- surrounds and protects the cell.
  • Cytoplasm- "cell liquid is inside the cell and it is between the membrane and nucleus.
  • Organelle- a certain structure that does certain jobs.
  • Nucleus- located in the center of the cell and it is like the brain of the cell.
