DEMOCRITUS

  • AROUND 350 BC, DEMOCRITUS CLAIMED THAT EVERYTHING IS MADE OUT
  • OF ATOMS
  • HE CAME UP WITH THIS BY LOOKING AT VERY SMALL PARTICLES
  • WITHOUT HIM, DEMOCRITUS MODERN ATOMIC THEROY WOULDN'T
  • EXSIST

JOHN DALTON

  • He discovered the atomic theory in 1817
  • He came with the atomic theory
  • In the wellear age, it's important
  • Because its the cornerstone of all of matter
  • And their orgins

ERNEST RUTHERFORD

  • In 1899 Rutherford said that all atoms contain a
  • Nucleus. He came up with this proven theory by
  • There he began experimenting with the transmission of radio waves
  • went on to join Thomson's ongoing investigation of the conduction
  • of the conduction of electricity through gases.

NEILS BOHR

  • He discovered the structure of an atom to be in more
  • Detail, electrons. Another thing Bohr contributed to was
  • Quantum physics. To make the discovery on electrons,
  • He used a microscope to put a liquid drop on the
  • Nucleus then zoomed in on it to have a clear shot of atoms.

J.J. THOMSON

  • 1947, Thomson came along and he showed that
  • Cathode rays were composed of an unknown
  • Negatively charged particles. To do this he used
  • Cathode rays on his exploration into canal rays.
  • If we didn't know about electrons, we wouldn't have electricity
