  • Giotto is said to be a starter of the Renaissance
  • He would paint pictures of nature
  • He was born and raised in Florence
  • Most people thought he was the Greatest artist of their time

Dante and Chaucer

  • They were Poets who wrote famous books
  • Dante wrote the Divine Comedy
  • Chaucer wrote the Canturberry Tales
  • Chaucer was considered the greatest poet of his time

The Black Plague

One of the most deadly diseases known to man

  • Came to Europe by ships
  • Killed 20 million people
  • Killed 1/3 of the population of Europe
  • Victims had Black Boils

Marco Polo

(Yes, he is the reason for the game)

Marco Polo

  • He was merchant that traveled to China
  • He taught Europe most of what they know about eastern asia
  • He technically invented the game "Marco Polo"

Gothic Cathedrals

Gothic Architechure

  • This Architechual style dominated Europe
  • Castle became lighter, and less cold and damp
  • This style added more detail to the castles
  • These castles and churches could be built higher.
