HELEN KELLER

• Born on 1880, June 27
• Got blind & deaf at 1/2 years old
• She could recognize people by touching them
• Family found a teacher to teach Helen named Anne Sulivene
• Anne changed Keller's life by teaching her reading and writing
• Learned how to read lips
• Died on June 1 ,1968

TODD BEAMER

• Born 1968,November 24
• Plane passenger in 9,11
• Todd went to DC for his job
• Todd & other passengers died as heroes to save the White House
• He showed patriotism
• Last words "Let's roll"
• His Daughter was born when he died

JOHN OLIVAS

• He was a NASA astronaut
• Born May 25,1966
• Not dead yet!
• He studied mechanical engineering
• Applied for NASA for ten years and his dream came true in 1998
• He made 2 flights & 2 space walks
• He retired in 2010 & is now teaching a university

BUFFALO SOLDIERS

• Sergeant Henry Parker was a BS
• He showed the most courage
• The BS were part of the civil war
• The author's belief that the BS did not mistreat the NA
• The BS served the country under the worst conditions
• At the end of the civil war 38,000 black soilders were killed

POLICE OFFICERS

• They make sure people are following laws
• They wear professional uniforms
• Police cars have sirens & come in different shapes & sizes
• They keep manage of the traffic
• They use special tools to help them protect us
• They act like detectives when they are solving a crime
