  • Skookum Jim, Tagish Charlie, George Washington Carmac, 100,000 others
  • Left farm and went into manufacturing then quit because of unair labor
  • lost their crops because of poor soil and weather conditions

miners conditions

  • trails they took to the yukon gold rush were difficult and life threatening
  • the theives were stealing supplies
  • there were rock slides, avalanches
  • it was the midst of a major economic depression
  • they had to save equipment for expedition

  • also got a new way of life
  • bandits would take people's gold and they would become bankrupt
