PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Thinking about our actions and their consequences.
We all know this feeling!
Consequences Definition:
Something that logically or naturally follows from an action or condition; the effect, result, or outcome of something occurring earlier.
Without consequences, the world would lack order and people might lose a sense of responsibility and lack discipline within themselves. Consequences help teach us what's right and what's wrong.
But don't assume that consequences to your actions only effect yourself. Often times they also effect the people around you.
What are some negative consequences?
NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES
- You rob a bank: Go to jail
- You eat lots of junk: Develop poor health
- Talk back to your parents: Get grounded
- Skip studying: Fail your test
- Talk smack: Get beat up
But they're not always negative! How about some positive consequences?
POSITIVE CONSEQUENCES
- Study hard: Get good grades and into college
- Work hard: Get a paycheck and promotions
- Be kind to others: Make new friends
- Eat right and exercise: Be healthy
- Help others: Feel good!
