SPEED

  • speed is the ratio of distance traveled to time take
  • I ran 4 laps around the track in 6 minutes and 30 seconds
  • I went 110mph in 5.8 seconds in my car

DISTANCE

  • Can be measured in meters
  • I drove 2.5 miles to work

VELOCITY

  • the speed of something in a given direction.
  • The time the pit crew have to change a tire

DISPLACEMENT

  • A displacement is the shortest distance from the initial to the final position of a point P.[
  • I walk 10 meters east and,I will be at the stadium

SCALAR

  • a scalar is a one-dimensional physical quantity
  • The temperature on the thermometer

VECTOR

  • a quantity possessing both magnitude and direction, represented by an arrow the direction
  • For example, during an average trip to school, there are many changes in speed.

MAGNITUDE

  • the great size or extent of something.
  • The stars are 100 times brighter at night then day

DIRECTION

  • a position on a line extending from a specific point toward a point
  • The plane went that direction
