Conforming
I break,
Under your hands,
Conforming,
To your pressure,
And substance,
Religiously studying,
The design you've made of me,
Fitting the corners,

Conforming cont.
Becoming the curves,
Filling arms,
And leaking,
Inconstant,
From moonlight eyes

How this fits in...

The poem relates to the difficult decision Mr. Wehling in "2BR02B" had to make and the members of the town in "The Lottery" blindly following tradition.

If your looking for a couple books with a happy-go-lucky character, turn away now, for these books are for those with the desire to see the effects of conformity on the general public.

Parallel Lines

"...Next thing you know, they'll be wanting to go back to living in caves, nobody work anymore, live that way for a while." -The Lottery

Parallel Lines

"...Without population control, human beings would now be packed on the surface of this old planet like drupelets on a blackberry. Think of it!" -2BR02B

Think about this...

If you and someone you cared about participated in The Lottery, would you speak up if they drew the black dot? Would they for you? Why or why not?

Is the methods of population control in these stories effective? Why or why not?
