BACKGROUND

  • • Born in Weil der Stadt, Germany
  • • Born December 27, 1571
  • • Died November 15, 1630
  • • Died from illness fever
  • • German mathematician, astronomer, and astrologer

Early Life

  • Grew up in a wealthy family
  • Sickly child but great at math
  • Contracted Smallpox as a child and almost died
  • Survived Smallpox but lost 40% of his vision

Education

  • Attended Tübingen University and seminary at Maulbroon
  • Studied philosophy, theology, and math
  • Became known for being an excellent mathematician and astrologer

Adult Life and Family
• Met Barbra Müller in 1595
• Married in 1597 on April 27
• Had 2 children the first years they were married but both children died as babies
• Had 3 other children, Sussana, Frederich, and Ludwig
