NICCOLO MACHIAVELLI

Niccolo Machiavelli was born May 3, 1469. He was a diplomat for 14 years during the Medici Family exile. When they returned he was thrown in jail. He then wrote The Prince a handbook for politicians. He also wrote many poems and plays. He died on June 21, 1527 in Florence, Italy.

WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

Very little is known about William Shakespeares childhood. He was born in the English city of Stratfordupon-Avon.He was the third of six children including two older sisters and three younger brothers. When he turned 18 he married Anne Hathaway. And had three children. His most famous plays are the ones he wrote for theLord Chamberlin's Men. He died on his 52nd birthday.

JOHANNES GUTENBERG

Johannes Gutenberg was born in Mainz, Germany in 1398. He invented the printing press. It is considered the most important invention in modern times. He also invented the movable type. The first thing printed using the printing press was a German poem, he also became known for printing the Gutenberg Bible.

MICHELANGELO

Michelangelo was born in Caprese, Italy on March 6, 1475. He was still young when him and his family moved to Florence, Italy. He had little interest in school. His talents in art were noticed by Ghirlandaio. Within a year he was sent to the Medici Family to continue training under sculptor Bertoldo di Geovanni. He created many statues including The Pieta and The Statue of David. Also some paintings including the ceiling of The Sintine Chapel, the Mona Lisa, and The Creation of Adam.
