Clyde Chesnut (Champion) Barrow
Born March 24, 1909 in Telico, Texas
Youngest of 8
Never passed through the 5th grade. He was a stubborn child.
At age 12, his family moved to west Dallas.
Quit school and began selling stolen turkeys with his brother Buck
Moved out in 1928
Arrested, then let go after lying his way out
After the start of his reputation, he met Bonnie Parker.

Traveled central United States with their gang during the Great Depression
Their exploits captured attention during the "Public Enemy Era" between 1931 and 1935

No one has ever seen Bonnie fire at officers.

From 1932 to 1934, during the height of the Great Depression, their gang evolved from petty thieves to nationally known robbers and murderers

The spree ended when they were betrayed by a friend and were shot at a police roadblock in Louisiana on May 23, 1934.
The gang was believed responsible for at least 13 murders, including 2 policemen, and several robberies and kidnappings.
