• He was second in power in Athens, the chief god was Athena.

POSEIDON'S CLAIM TO FAME

• The power was split between him and his 2 brothers.
• This was decide when his siblings defeat their father.
• Poseidon became ruler of the sea, the earthquakes, and the horses.
• Hades ruled the underworld.
• Zeus ruled the sky.

MAJOR STORY INCLUDING POSEIDEN

• At one point Poseidon had the hots for Demeter.
• To put him off Demeter asked him to create a beautiful creature.
• He took a long time to finally create a horse. Poseidon created many other animals in the process.
• By the time he finished the horse his feelings cooled for Demeter.
