These mountain peaks are sacred in some cultures.
This mountain range contains thousands of glaciers.
The mountain range covers about 75% of Nepal.
The Himalaya's permanent snow line is the highest in the world.

Many of the tallest and most famous mountains are in the mountain range.
Most lakes are found at altitudes of less than 5,000 m, with the size of the lakes diminishing with altitude.
