'Too soon a woman' is a short story by Dorothy M. Johnson, about two sisters, one 11 year old boy (the narrator), Mary and Pa. At the beginning of the story the family are on their way to the mountains. They had been moving for two weeks, when they picked up Mary. Pa consistently argued with Mary as he didn't want her to join them. Eventually, she joined them but Pa mentioned that they have very little food and money. Pa informed them that he would search for food during four days, while he left Mary in charge. They lost the horse on the third night before they had a racket. Pa hadn't showed up by the fourth day and they had just ran out of grub. What do you think happens next? Read 'Too Soon a Woman' to find out!
