The speaker, audience, and purpose are three components of persuasive speeches. These components are incorporated into speeches with the speaker persuading the audience to do something or take on an opinion, which is their purpose. The speaker's purpose is usually identified in their thesis statement at the beginning of their speech. Speaker, audience, and purpose are used in rhetoric identify the foundation an argument or persuasion is built on.
