GEORGIA O'KEEFFE

NOVEMBER 15, 1887- MARCH 6, 1986 :)

Georgia O'keeffe was born in Sunprarie, Wisconsin and by the age of 10 she had decided that her passion was painting and art, her mother was also an artist so she learned from a very young age about art !

Her specialty was taking enlarged blossoms and presenting the close up as if they were under a magnifying lens

Her first gallery showing was in 1916 hosted by her dear friend Alfred Stieglitz, who then later became her husband is 1924!

It was not until after her husband died that she relocated to New Mexico where she was inspired by the landscape to do more southern western landscape paintings

Some of her most famous pieces are; black cross, cows skull with calico roses, and black iris. She has since left her legacy and has a museum full of her paintings !
