WHY DOES DO OUR VEINS LOOK BLUE?

  • Blood appears blue because of wavelengths in the light.
  • We see the blue because the blue wavelengths reflect blue back into our eyes.
  • This makes our veins look blue but it's actually red.

  • When blood first is pumped out of your heart it is bright red
  • When blood is coming back to your heart it is a very dark red
  • There are 150MILLION red blood cells in only one OUNCE of blood.
