BIOMASS

  • Biomass is an organic matter that can be used as an energy source that is found on the surface
  • It Is a renewable resource
  • We use it for burning, bacterial decay, and fermentation
  • Industries use it to make products
  • Biomass can pollute the air

COAL

  • Coal is a fossil fuel that is underground.
  • It is a no renewable resource and it pollutes the air
  • Indians used it to bake their pottery
  • We burn coal to make electricity
  • We have to mine for it

GEOTHERMAL ENERGY

  • Geothermal energy is heat from within the Earth we dig wells and pump it to the surface
  • It is a renewable resource
  • We heat it to make electricity
  • It is pollution free
  • It won't run out

HYDROPOWER

  • Hydropower is the force of moving water
  • It is a renewable resource
  • Water turns turbines to generate electricity
  • It is found In the surface of water
  • It is pollution free and is free to use

NATURAL GAS

  • It is a fossil fuel
  • It is a Nonrenewable resource
  • It is beneath the ocean and we have to drill for it
  • Industries burn it for heating
  • It is pollution

PETROLEUM

  • It is a fossil fuel
  • It is Nonrenewable
  • It is beneath the ocean and we drill for it
  • We burn petroleum to make oil
  • If is pollution

PROPANE

  • Energy- rich gas that is related to petroleum and natural gas
  • It is Nonrenewable
  • It is found under ground and is mored through pipelines
  • We liquify it then burn it to heat homes
  • It can pollute the air

SOLAR ENERGY

  • Energy of the sun
  • It is renewable
  • The sun makes its energy in earth's core
  • It does not pollute the environment
  • Solar panels store chemical energy which transfers into electricity

URANIUM( NUCLEAR ENERGY)

  • Energy in the nucleus of an atom
  • It is Nonrenewable
  • It does not pollute the air but there is radioactivity
  • It is underground and we mine for it
  • We put it in a nuclear power-plant to generate heat

WIND

  • Wind is air in motion
  • It is renewable
  • Wind energy turns turbines to produce electricity
  • Wind energy is free to use
  • Wind energy can be found almost anywhere
