THE FIRSR GLOBAL AGE 1400-1800

RENAISSANCE

  • It was the spread of art and culture that began in the 1300 in Italy
  • Later in time it spread the rest of Europe
  • An example of Renaissance is European rules, supported by the Catholic Church..
  • They wanted to spread their religious beliefs and win converts to Christianity

WESTERNIZATION

  • Basically it is the spread of ideas and values from the Europe to the western world
  • Ex: in the end of the 18th century, Europe had become a dominant force
  • Europe's culture began to spread around the world

ABSOLUTISM

  • It is a system of a rule
  • Which means that a monarch or any ruler gets to enjoy unlimited power
  • Ex:Louis XIV of France embodied the principle of absolutism

DIVINE RIGHT

  • The notion believe that the rulers power is derived by god not questioned
  • Ex: in china there rulers had claimed the Mandate of Heaven,
  • They supported their rule.

COMMERCIAL REVOLUTION

  • In the 16th century,there was a big expansion.
  • Caused trade and business to expane in Europe
  • Ex:new methods of business and banking went too there countries

CAPITALISM

  • An economic system based on private enterprise
  • Ex:living standard rose while wealth increased

  • It is about concern for the world and not about religion
  • Ex:principles of science

  • They are Spanish leaders over the America
  • Ex:Francisco Pizarro led his army to conquer the inca empire

  • A mixed person both European and Native American
  • Ex:in the Spanish social structure, second to the last mestizos were bottom

  • An increase of money supply
  • Ex:trade and it increased in the money by how much they traded

  • The transfer of stuff like plants,animals and also diseases
  • Ex:Americans traded with Europeans on food,plants,and animals.
  • Also disease between eastern and western hemispheres

  • diseases brought over by Europe.
  • Which cause a devastation of American Indian population
  • Ex:a lot of people dead before the disease come.
  • But when it did more then ten million people died from the disease

HUMANISM

  • Balancing religious faith with secular learnings,
  • Also belief in the value of you self or individual
  • Ex:arts and thinkers helped shape new views of the world

REFORMATION

  • A movement in 16 and 17 century,a birth of Protestant religion.
  • Also the split of Catholic Church
  • Ex:matin Luther helped and believed that the church grown corrupt

SCIENTIFIC REVOLUTION

  • It was the shift of thinking of studies.
  • About nature,which it started in the mid 1500's
  • Moved beyond religious teachings

  • A movement in 18th century,
  • About the scientific methods that studied.
  • Studied about society and its problems

WHAT CHANGED THE WORLD MORE BETWEEN 1400 AND 1800

  • The one that changed the world more is trade.
  • The reason it is trade is that nothing would have gone to other places.
  • Also if trade never happen they would have the stuff they had that time
  • The last reason is that the stuff that the people had during that time was all because of trade
