John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born on May 29,1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts.

Early Life

  • Was the 2nd of nine children
  • His parents were members of two of Boston’s most prominent Irish Catholic political families.
  • He had health problems when he was young. Later in his life he was diagnosed with a rare health disorder.

  • He attended private schools such as Canterbury and Choate and enjoing summers in Hyannis Port on Cape Cod
  • He went to colloge at Havard.

Later life

  • In 1941, John joined the U.S. Navy
  • In 1943, he was given a command of a Patrol-Torpedo (PT) boat.
  • On August 1943, the ship was destroyed, but JFK survived. He helped the people who were alive back to safety.
  • He earned the herorism award

  • John married a woman named Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
  • They had 2 kids, Caroline and JFK jr.

JFK was inaugurated president on January 20, 1961. Was the 35th president and the youngest. He also was the first president to be a Roman Catholic.During that time the Cold War and the Cuban Missle Crisis were going on. JFK figured ot a way to stop the Cuban Missle Crisis, but the Cold War ended later.

On November 22, 1963 JFK was assassinated while on a motorcade .

FUN FACTS

  • His nickname was Jack
  • When each of his brothers and sisters reached the age of 21 each one was granted with the gift of $1,000,000.
