Sticky notes were invented by a man named Spencer Silver in 1968. Silver was researching adhesive's when he accidentally made a substance that could stick to an object but then be stuck to an other object with the same stickiness. Right away Silver knew he could could make something with his new formula. Although it took him years to find a use he finally found one. Silver needed a bookmark that could stick to the pages with out ripping them. Seeing how well his formula worked with paper he made little square shaped sheets of paper, slapped on some of his formula and showed his office and how it could be a new way of communication. The President of his company liked it so much he mass produced it. That company is now the well known "Post-it"
