The Great Wall of China
was built to keep out the Xiongnu, or nomads from attacking Chinese farmers and traders.

The wall was built to close off bordering countries.

The Chinese first made the Great Wall by digging dirt from the ground, next piled up dirt, after that the Chinese made a wooden frame around the dirt wall.

Qin Shihuangdi decided he wanted one single giant wall, instead of many smaller walls.

Qin put over 3,000 people to work on the wall, but it actually took 1,700 years to build.

When the Great Wall of China was finished, it had took around 1,000,000 deaths. Here is the weird part: those deaths were the people whom built it.

The Great Wall of China extends into various terrain, its highest point is over 5,000 feet above sea level.

Answer For A
A. The significance of the Great Wall of China is that it has prevented enemies from invading and destroying China.

Answer For B
B. China would be different because the Great Wall of China is one of the seven wonders of the world. Another is that it holds information and history about ancient China.
