William Quantrill

-Has known to have fled to become a gambler in Salt Lake City, where he shot and killed a man over a poker game
-In 1860, he joined a group called the Jayhawkers and helped them on a raid to free some Missouri slaves
-Fought in the Battle of Wilson's Creek which led him to become a leader of a renegade band of 400 outlaws and guerrillas known as Quantrill's Raiders
