why is voting so important?
If voting is high - indication that there is a great amount of commitment/loyalty to the political system. People are interested in the welfare of the nation.
If voting is low - people don't care about political system that governs them. Elected people can't say that their decisions are fully supported when a lot of people don't vote.
roughly 60% of people vote in canada
but why aren't people voting?
these are fine and dandy...
Boycott - an effort by a group to refuse to deal with a person/organization to protest its actions

- Meeting with cabinet ministers to discuss their case
- Have lobbyists attend parliament committees about some legislation
- Pay for ads on TV, radio, and newspapers
- Using web sites to educate public
- Pamphlets

- Set up info tables
- Contact local groups to offer speakers
- Writing letters to newspapers
but... they require info to draft laws
