  • AFTER FERTILIZATION, THE EGG DIVIDES INTO TWO CELLS

DAY 4

  • ABOUT FOUR DAYS AFTER FERTILIZATION, THE FERTILIZED EGG FINALLY REACHES THE UTERUS

DAY 10

  • 10th day after fertilization, the embryo contains thousands of cells and is completely buried in the uterine wall

WEEK 8

  • The embryo is only 30 mm long. (A little over a inch)

WEEK 12

  • Brain enlarging
  • Arms and legs forming
  • Bones forming
  • Heart and blood system fully functioning

WEEK 16

  • Mother can feel fetal movements
  • About 5 inches long

WEEK 18

  • Skin begins to grow
  • Hair can be detected on upper lip and on eyebrows
  • About 6 inches long

WEEK 24

  • Mouth can open, close, and swallow
  • Eyes can open and close
  • About 9 inches long

8-9 MONTHS

  • Features, origins fully form
  • 18-22 inches long
