HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

• Thomas Jefferson & James Maddison started it in 1792
• started to represent a wide range of views
• accomplishments was 19th amendment women's suffrage & social security act

PARTY PHILOSOPHY

• goals was to let Americans live out their dreams and to achieve their potential & to let the people say what they think
• role to government was to meet Americans challenges & protect values and fullfill dreams

ISSUES

• 1920- 19 th amendment women's suffrage
• to see if it's okay for women to vote. whitch was going back and forth saying they belong in the kitchen
• the leader president Woodrow Wilson granted women's right to vote on August 18 1920. leaving a lot of people upset with choice. this became the 19th amendment
• civics right act in 1964
• to prohibited racial segregation. to also outlaw discrimination against African Americans
• law sign by President Lyndon B. Johnson. the voting was unequal. that led to segregated schools, workplaces,public facilities & etc...
