UNFAMILIAR FACTS

  • There are many wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum the human eye cannot detect.
  • The visible red light has a wavelength of about 650 nm.
  • The visible purple light has a WAVELENGTH of about 400 nm.
  • Nm means nano-meter.
  • For light, every shade of every color corresponds to a different frequency.

FAMILIAR FACTS

  • Visible light forms a rainbow.
  • Our eyes are sensitive to light which is in a very small area of the electromagnetic spectrum labeled "VISIBLE LIGHT".
  • INFRARED RAYS have a longer wavelength than visible red light.
  • The white light is a mixture of the colors of the visible spectrum.
  • Visible light is an ILLUMINATED source.
