WHEN U MULTIPLY A FRACTION U

REAL WORLD EXAMPLE

• He takes 5/9 of an hour to travel to to the mall and back
• He made 6 trips to the mall and back last month
• Now work it ✏️✏️✏️
• Multiply across and simplify

NUMORATOR AND DENOMINATOR

• Numorator in the top number
• Denominator is the bottom number
• In a fraction

LCM

• " least common multiple "
• The least common multiple of a number
• So if we wanted to find the least common multple
• Of 12 we would try to find every number that goes
• Into twelve- 1x12, 2x6, 3x4 and so thats as far as it can go so 3x4 would be the answer

GCF

• The greatest common factor
• Say u wanted to find the greatest common facor of 12 & 16
• Well u have to find all the factors first ( do it on the board )
• And u should end up with 4

PROPER AND IMPROPER FRACTIONS

• A proper fraction is a fraction that cant be divided into
• An improper fraction is a fraction that can be divided into for example
• 90/10 is an improper fraction
• 3/4 is a proper fraction
