Cottage cheese is a cheese curd product with a mild flavor. The cheese is drained but isn't pressed so some of the whey stays in. The curd remains loose.

When selecting cottage cheese, stick to organic. Organic cheese has a lower risk of contaminated feed and is healthier for you. You might also want to ask for grass-fed.

Storage

When properly stored at or below 40° F, containers of cottage cheese last until their best by date.

Keep refrigerated until needed.
