There are many people that were very important during the renaissance and most of them were painters and architects but there were some inventors and astrologers and not to forget adventurers but Titian decided to be a painter.
Titian was born in Pieve din Cadore but has no known birth date though some suggest that he was born around 1490.
His father named Gregorio was in the military and Titians older brother named Francesco was also a painter but was surprisingly inspired to paint by Titian and then started painting for a church which made Titian Jealous so Francesco was moved from painting to the army.
When Titian was 10 he arrived in Venice he started practicing his painting at the workshop of mosaicist Sebastiano Zuccato then joined Gentile Bellini's then after Gentile passed-away in 1507 he joined the workshop of Gentile's brother, Giovanni Bellini and at the time was important in Venice.
Something that seemed to have really inspired Titian was color, he really liked to put color in all of his painting and they turned out colorful but not happy and exciting because he somehow even with all the colors had a dark shading. He became famous through portrait painting he was also a painter of religious paintings. The painting before that time were even different to the medieval ages.
The biggest event of his life and the reason that he was so famous and popular was because of when he met with the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V Bologna in 1530 because he made a portrait of the emperor that was full length and full size that is now lost and that is what really started his painting career.
He very quickly became THE painter for the imperial court and that gave him a lot of privileges honor and titles he was then also the most wanted painter at courts all across Europe. He also became the official painter of the portrait of the son of Charles V, that was Phillip II of Spain named Poesie.
