Owls are nocturnal meaning they hunt at night.
FEATURES OF OWLS
- Owls have very sharp talons.
- Owls have feather on their legs to protect them from bites.
- Their feather don't make much noise while flying.
EYES
- Their eyes let them see in the dark and day better than us.
Because of the owls big eyes they can't move them because there's no space for muscles but instead they can move their neck at 270 degrees.
An Owls ears are underneath the feathers but they are in different Height in their head. Helping them locate their prey easier.
An Owls claws are called talons.
The feathers all the way down their legs protect them from bites from the prey.
The design of the Owls feathers make them silent hunters.
After three weeks an owlet can swallow its prey whole.
An owl pellet is a ball with hair, fur, and bones from the pray and the owl can't digest them therefor it regurgitates it through the mouth.
Barn owls feed on rodents
Owls don't lay all eggs at once to have enough food.
An owlet has to leave its nest and find a territory to have enough food
Barn owls can live up to twenty years.
