Paul has a brave personality. " as I took off, flying through the air. I landed hard on coach Warner's back and held on tight, riding his neck and shoulders. " Paul is brave because his was brave enough to jump on the coaches back. Pg. 251

Paul desires to be on the soccer team at Lake Winsdor Downs
"I figured this was it. This was going to make it all official. The coach was going to tell me how impressed he has been by my play in goal "
This means that Paul wanted to play so badly he thought that he already had a spot on the team. Pg. 60

Paul and Erik. " I stammered out ' Erik. He tried to kill me.' " this shows that Paul and Erik's relationship is not the strongest because Paul thinks that Erik tried to kill him. Pg. 3

Paul changes by changing schools. " The first day of school. Take three. " This says that Paul have been to to other schools and this is his third school to change to in Florida.

Paul changes by being afraid of Erik then not being afraid of him. " ' I'm afraid of you, Erik. Come on. ' " This says that Paul is not afraid of Erik anymore, although he always was.

Paul has glasses. " In addition to my regular glasses, I have special goggles, prescription goggles, for playing sports. " This says that Paul wears glasses. Pg 41

Paul dresses like a normal late 90's boy on the first day of school. " I got into my blue pants, white shirt, blue tie, black socks, and black socks and went down to the kitchen. " This shows Paul's appearance on his first day of his third school in Florida. Pg. 293

In the beginning of the book Paul was scared and shy by being afraid of his brother and not showing what his brother is really like to his parents to his parents. Then later on Paul really realizes how much of a bully Erik really is. Then in the end Paul is courageous and stands up to Erik and ends up not being afraid of him anymore.
