THERE WAS AN ECONOMIC BOOM IN THE TWENTIES

THE ROARING TWENTIES WERE'NT SO ROARING AFTER BLACK TUESDAY

PEOPLE WERE STRUGGLING TO SURVIVE

AVERAGE AMERICANS WERE AFFECTED

BUT THERE WAS STILL AN ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY

THE COUNTRY WAS IN TURMOIL

AND AN EFFORT WAS MADE TO MAKE SURE THE

THE GREAT DEPRESSION NEVER HAPPENED AGAIN.

WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE?

  • There was a booming industry in the twenties, before the Great Depression.
  • Flappers, or women who wore short hair and dresses, was the fashion of the twenties. There were good times, so people Enjoyed themselves. bursting of the economic bubble was one of the main reasons of the start of the Great Depression.
  • I selected the image for the third slide because the photographer accurately showed how stressful the stock market crash was.

WHATS THE SIGNIFICANCE?

  • The fourth picture was taken by Dorthea Lange. The mother is struggling to survive.
  • I chose the picture of the two people, taken by Margaret borke -White because they were average people who were hurt by the Economic Failure.
  • People still enjoyed themselves with forms of entertainment including radios.
  • Even kids protested for an added wow factor.
  • People fought back with new deal programs such as the civilian Conservation Corps.
