After Kevin's mom died Jake was being very kind by saying " If there is anything I can do to help, let me know." After Kevin's mom died he was kind through out the rest of the book.

Indirect
Leader
The author wrote about how he was always talking on the field telling his player to make plays. He was also always a play maker. An example of his leadership is when he had a wide open shot he would pass to Kevin to let him score so he would stop being in a bad mood after his mom died.

Indirect
FRIENDLY
Even though his teammates weren't always willing to be his friend, he would always be friendly to them even they didn't want to be nice back.

Static vs Dynamic

The character is dynamic because in the beginning of the book he got mad when they lost. Then he changed his attitude from being grumpy to happy and started diving, and sliding in the mud
