• Both stories deal with free will.
• The monster didn't chose to be created.
• Dracula didn't chose to be a vampire.He has to kill people to stay alive.
• Responsibility and duty is another theme in the novels "Frankenstein" and "Dracula".
• Victor felt the need to kill the monster.Good men got together and vowed to kill the monster.

LOCATION IMPACTS THE STORY

• It is dark and gloomy which makes it seem creepy and makes the reader feel suspense.
• The counts castle is cold and dark thus making the reader feel suspense and on edge.
• Being in a castle makes the reader feel scared and wondering what happens next.

CHARACTERS

• Van Helsing-Dutch professor who became Dracula's antagonist.
• He was the leader of the group that killed Dracula.
• Jonathan Harker-A lawyer who went to Transylvania,he was help captive at the castle.
• Mina Murray-Jonathan's fiancée. She is smart and resourceful.Her research led to finding of Dracula.
• Lucy Westenra-Mina's best friend and the first person to get preyed on by Dracula.

• Arthur Holmwood-He gives Lucy a blood transfusion and kills her demonic form.
• Quincey Morris-A brave and good hearted man who sacrificed himself to rid the world of Dracula.

• Mrs.Westenra-Lucy's mother who unintentionally sabotages her daughters safety by taking away the garlic.

PLOT

• Jonathan Harker, a young english lawyer goes to castle Dracula go conclude a real estate transaction.
• He notices the he is a "prisoner" in the castle.
• He realizes that the Count is a "vampire" with supernatural powers and diabolic ambitions.
• Harker gets attacked by 3 vampire women,but the Count fends them off.
• Meanwhile,in England,Harkers fiancée Mina Murray talks to her friend Lucy about three marriage proposals.

PLOT

• Mina visits Lucy in Whitby and they discover a wrecked russian ship with a dead captain and no crew members.
• The ship has fifty boxes of earth shipped from castle Dracula.
• After that Lucy begins sleepwalking.One night Mina finds her in the cemetary.
• She thinks she saw a figure,with red eyes, bending over Lucy.
• Harker goes to Buda-Pest and Mina visits him.

PLOT

• Van Helsing comes and diagnoses her,then puts garlic around Lucy's room.
• Lucy's mother takes the garlic away,not knowing why it was there.
• One night a wolf broke in and the shock gives Lucy's mother a heart attack and Lucy gets killed.
• The men then do the vampire slaying ritual on Lucy.Then they pledge to destroy Dracula.
• Mina and Jonathan get married.Mina and Van Helsing put together journal entries to find Dracula.

PLOT

• Dr.Sewards mental patient lets Dracula into the asylum where they're staying.
• Dracula preys upon Mina.The men steralize the earth and the count goes back to Transylvania.
• The men pursue him and they cleanse Castle Dracula by killing the three female vampires.
• They seal up the entrances with sacred objects.Jonathan and Quincey use knives to kill him.
