ADAPTATIONS

  • Amphibians are cold-blooded animals, meaning they do not have a constant body temperature but instead take on the temperature of their environment.
  • They have moist scaleless skin that absorbs water and oxygen.
  • They have very good eyesight and are usually nocturnal so they hunt in low light.
  • Amphibians hear through seismic vibrations in their front two feet.
  • The chemorecepter indicates these animals still rely on an aquatic atmosphere for mating.

  • Amphibians can breath through their skin, as well as through their lungs.
  • Deoxy. and oxy. blood mix in the ventricles to allow circuits to circulate
  • The excretory system rids the amphibian if waste and regulates water intake

HABITAT

  • Mostly live in moist environments around ponds and bodies of water
  • They live in moist environments so their skin doesn't dry out and can breathe
  • Digestive organs: the pharynx carries food to the esophagus, the esophagus carries food to the
  • Stomach, the stomach holds and digests the food, the small intestine absorbs nutrients and digests
  • Food and rhe large intestine gets excess water out before waste is released.
