Bears first evolved around 40 million years ago. Black bears are meat eaters and can climb trees.

Black bears are the most common type of bear in the world,numbering about 700,000.

Black bears are the smallest bears in North America. The adult average black bear is 35 to 40 inches (89 102 cm) when standing on all four feet. Black bears are about 4.5 to 6 feet (1.3 to 1.8) when standing on their hind legs.

Where black bears live.
They live in norther Mexico,north America,Rocky Mountains,Canada,and the lower article circle. Visitors to Americas national parks often see black bears.

Female black bears give birth to two or three blind helpless cubs in mid winter and nurse them in the den until spring when all emerge in search of food. The cubs will stay with their very protective mother for about two years.

Black bears diet.
American black bears are omnivores witch means the eat plants,fruit,nuts,insects,
honey,salmon,meat,small mammals,and more.In northern regains they eat spawning salmon. Black bears will also kill young deer or moose calves.

Bears are very smart animals that learn quickly.
They are curious and have very good memories. Because of there small eyes,there is a myth that bears cannot see well. But bears have good eyesight. They can tell the difference between colors,and see well at night.

Bears are very strong. They move rocks and large logs with one paw. No animal of an equal size is as powerful as a bear. A black bear may kill a moose,elk,or a dear with a single hit to the neck. Black bears have 20 long claws and can Easily rip the bark off trees.
